Happy to support KCAA officials once again!

Team of officials aligning a photo finish camera

We were pleased to be invited back to the Kent County Athletic Associations annual officials development day in November. This year, the groups focused on some of the more technical elements of athletics, from assessing implement compliance, to judging long jump take-offs using cameras.

Of course, we ran some sessions on photo finish. In the first, we covered how to set up and configure photo finish cameras. In our second session, the officials captured and read some images some athletes training whilst the starters got some practice in with Medway & Maidstone AC’s new electronic start system.

The day was well attended, if a little cold, but everyone was in great spirits from a morning of sharing and learning.

We hope to be invited back next year.

Can we support you?

We are all about officials development, so if you would like us to support your development event, or are an official that is looking for some photo finish experiences. Please do reach out.

Another W60 world record smashed by Clare

We were once again proud to record a new world masters record in the W60 category for the 1,500m on the 5th August at Tonbridge Athletic Club Open.

Clare Elms took over 2 seconds off her existing record, set earlier in the season, with a fantastic time of 4:56.85.

Well done Clare – keep it going!

Proud to support KCAA Officials Development

Delta Timing is proud to have been asked to support Kent Athletics Officials during their Annual Development day in October.

We were asked to provide an introduction to Photo Finish technology and its operation for the delegates, and share some of our experiences including some of the things that can go wrong during an event.

The day was well attended and lots of interest was shown from all colleagues that came to our sessions.

The sessions included an explanation of all the equipment that make up the Photo Finish and Chip Timing solutions including some key tips on setup and configuration. We also covered how to start a race and capture results, finishing the session with an opportunity to read photo finish images and record live results.

There were lots of questions asked by the officials, some of which were well experienced in Photo Finish and others who had not seen the technology working close up.

It was a great day organised by Gill Freeman and her colleagues at KCAA, with lots of sharing of expertise across all disciplines in Track & Field! Thank You Gill!

We hope to be asked back next year for more of the same!

We are now live and ready to take bookings!
